Money, the nation’s largest personal finance magazine, is seeking summer interns to join our reporter pool and work closely with writers and editors in all sections of the magazine.
Money interns are encouraged to pitch stories and usually get the opportunity to write short department items and sidebars, as well as to become part of the reporting team on larger features. For instance, interns regularly become involved in reporting for one of our signature franchises, The Best Places to Live in America.
Most interns spend at least a week working at the CNNMoney website. Other responsibilities include contributing to our Facebook and Twitter feeds, providing background reporting for senior level writers, gathering data for graphics, and fact checking.
Interns will be invited to attend Money’s planning and story pitch meetings, as well as Time Inc.’s numerous intern events and talks with top company executives and editors.
We look for interns with strong reporting, interviewing and writing skills.
Previous business journalism experience is not a requirement, but interest in the consumer and personal finance topics that we cover is.
The internship runs from June 11 to August 10, and is paid. Housing is also provided, based on availability.
If interested, please send your resume, cover letter and one or two clips to Margaret_Magnarelli@moneymail.com.
