Footnoted's research staff pores over hundreds of SEC filings a day to unearth critical information buried in the fine print, such as evidence of aggressive accounting, excessive compensation, or the type of questionable self-dealing that can indicate more serious problems at a company.
With original insight and analysis culled from corporate filings, Footnoted's free site has become a must-read for professional money managers and analysts, as well as sophisticated individual investors.
The editorial intern will assist in reviewing the daily SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and proxy statements. This is a part-time paid internship that requires up to 20 hours per week, as well as a flexible schedule during the school year and summer. This position is based in our Chicago office.
+ Research SEC filings, Morningstar Document Research, and other online sources.
+ Flag interesting filings and bring them to the attention of the Footnoted team.
+ Research other matters upon request, and write occasionally for the blog.
+ Strong research and investigative skills.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Detail oriented and skills in finance and/or accounting are a plus.
+ Currently enrolled in a bachelor`s degree program and majoring in journalism, business, finance or a related field.
